El Alamein Train Station - Egypt

The famous train station positioned in El Alamein, Egypt.

The location of one of the largest and definitive victories of British forces in the North Africa Campaign, the Allied victory turned the tide in the southern war and ended the Axis threat to Egypt, the Suez Canal and the Middle Eastern and Persian oil fields.

The Second Battle of El Alamein revived the morale of the Allies, being the first big success against the Axis since Operation Crusader in late 1941, after the victory was heard in London. Big Ben and church bells across the country was rung for the first time since the beginning of the war in 1939.
